History

GEM Technology (GEM) was first launched over 25 years ago when Joe Easton and Livia Arnaiz embarked on a new career course. GEM is the epitome of a successful small business that was built from the ground up by two individuals who decided to establish a Federal Consulting firm based on their individual backgrounds and experience.

GEM is recognized at many Federal government sites nationwide as a premier source for safeguards & security and emergency management support. Other specific security projects include counterintelligence, weapons of mass destruction (WMD) analysis, and extensive investigation & adjudication processes including security access control oversight.

Providing technical and administrative support to Department of Energy (DOE) for over 20 years, GEM has developed comprehensive S&S and emergency management programs; managed the implementation of innovative S&S technologies; and provided direction which resulted in cost savings across many DOE and NNSA sites. GEM has supported S&S assessments, audits and programs under contracts such as the NNSA Global Threat Reduction Initiative (GTRI); several DOE National Laboratories; and the DOE NNSA Enterprise-wide Management Organizational and Administrative Support Services (MOA), and the Technical, Engineering and Programmatic Services (TEPS). Both BOAs cover all NNSA sites nationwide.

GEM is trusted by DOE, NNSA, FBI and other Federal agencies to develop, manage, implement and assess large, complex programs to maintain and protect both physical information and assets, and consistently receives “Outstanding” ratings and commendations for exemplary support.
